Awaj Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting workers’ rights and well-being in the Ready- Made Garment (RMG) sector of Bangladesh. Founded in 2003, we aim to ensure decent work, gender equity, and dignified lives for all workers. It upholds the principle that every individual is entitled to work in a professional environment free from harm, harassment, sexual abuse, bullying, humiliation, exploitation, or any form of unlawful discrimination. With 22 offices and community centers, we serve over 740,000 workers across 12 major industrial clusters in the Dhaka and Chittagong Divisions.
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Monitoring Officer to support the effective delivery of projects focused on workers’ rights, women’s leadership, and community development. The role involves tracking project progress, collecting and analyzing data, and providing feedback to improve performance. The ideal candidate will have experience in project monitoring, working with teams, and using data to guide decisions, while ensuring that all efforts align with Awaj Foundation’s mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and apply monitoring tools to track project activities and results.
• Conduct field visits to review progress and adherence to plans.
• Collect and analyze data against key indicators (KPIs).
• Ensure data accuracy through regular checks and validations.
• Prepare reports highlighting progress, challenges, and suggestions.
• Collaborate with teams to refine plans and performance indicators.
• Support evaluations and contribute to impact assessments.
• Organize and maintain centralized project data for easy access.
• Identify risks and suggest timely corrective actions.
• Provide performance feedback to teams and management.
• Assist with donor reports by supplying relevant analysis.
• Promote learning by documenting insights and best practices.
• Train staff on monitoring tools and quality data collection.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, or a related field (Master’s
preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in the non-profit or
development sector.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Proficiency in data collection, management, and analysis tools, including MS Excel and statistical software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Bengali.
• Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methodologies, including logical frameworks and indicator
development.
• Ability to conduct field visits and interact with community stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Demonstrated commitment to integrity, accuracy, and accountability in data reporting.
• Familiarity with donor reporting requirements and project management practices is an advantage.
• Experience in using data visualization tools (e.g., Advance Excell, SPSS) is an advantage.
